Blog Posting - Music Marketing #1

In the research and planning process for the Music Marketing project, me and my group brainstormed and thought of artists we can choose in the country genre. I chose Luke Bryan while my group members chose other country artists and we all started filling in the music chart with the history, brand identity, and digital and non-digital marketing. This really helped us to understand more about country artists because we were all a little bit unclear about it. After that, me and my group then chose the song Cold by Chris Stapleton and created a schedule so we know how to stay on top of our work and know what's due and what isn't. In the schedule we wrote when we will be completing the story board, PowerPoint, and when to start and complete our project as a whole. This really helps us to stay on track.

After the schedule we started to create the PowerPoint. Making this meant including the research every group member had gathered together. I researched about the 2020 Best Music Campaigns and wrote about the most important and famous creators which helped us brainstorm ideas for the presentation. The presentation is helpful because it shows our made up artist and their history to make their music seem more realistic.

As the first few parts of the project were finishing I created half of the storyboard and one of my group members did the other half. Our storyboard included all of the shots, angles, and composition of what the music video will turn out to be. Making the storyboard was extremely helpful as it made an outline so all we have to do is re-create it.

Planning and researching helped me and my group tremendously as we set clear goals to accomplish and made smart decisions so we know what direction to go in. We made sure to work hard in class so that we can have free time to edit and fix any tweaks we may need.
